Division 19 gracefully offers assistance to our student members for funding research or assisting with travel to the APA Convention each year.

Travel Award
The Student Travel Award helps students interested in military psychology travel to the APA's Annual Convention to present their research. Division 19 Student Travel Awards assist graduate/undergraduate students of psychology travel to APA's convention and present their research. These awards are $750 each. Up to 12 travel awards of $750 each to graduate/undergraduate students who have demonstrated excellence in advancing the science and practice of military psychology. Award recipients will be required to volunteer for one 2-hour time slot in the Division 19 Hospitality Suite during the Convention. Time slot selection will occur in advance of the Convention and will be on a first-come first-served basis. Annual Deadline: 31 March Eligibility

Research Grant
The Society for Military Psychology (Division 19 of the American Psychological Association) announces its annual competition for Division 19 Student Research Grants. The purpose of the Division 19 Student Research Grant program is to assist graduate/undergraduate students of psychology (clinical, I/O, cognitive, applied, etc.) with costs associated with conducting research. Up to two (2) Student Research Grants of $1500 each will be awarded annually. This annual award will be presented to students whose research reflects excellence in military psychology. The award winner(s) may request up to $750 in dedicated travel funds to aid with in-person APA Convention attendance. Please note that Student Research Grant award recipients are REQUIRED to present their findings at the upcoming APA Convention in August. Recipients will have the option to present in-person (eligible for travel award) or virtually (not eligible for travel award). There is no expectation research will be completed prior to presenting at the convention. For example, recipients may opt to present their proposal, an overview of current progress, and anticipated results.
