We are extremely excited about the webinar we co-hosted wtih Division 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) entitled "How to Get a VA Internship: An Hour With the Leaders in VA Training"! We were joined by Dr. Joel Schmidt, Dr. Bernadette Pasquale, Dr. John Beauvais, and Dr. Wayne Siegel, all of whom are either currently serving or have previously served as Chair of the VA Psychology Training Council, and are currently the directors of various regional VA healthcare systems. They cover all aspects of VA training and answer students' questions at the end.

Navigating HPSP Through Different Branches
ENS Libby Bohme, USN, 2nd Lt Athena Hubbard, USAF, and 2LT Jennifer Barry, USA, discussed the Health Professions Scholarship Program, or HPSP. Specifically, they described the differences in the the HPSP process across the branches, their personal experiences, and how to build a competitive application, approach the personal statement/essays, interact with recruiters, and identify as officers.

CAPT Scott Johnston, USN, LTC Deborah Engerran, USA, and LT Kyle Bandermann, USN, presented on the various roles that Active Duty clinical psychologists hold across their career spans. Presenters discussed expectations of military psychologists, possible duty assignments, leadership roles, and some of the challenges and rewards of practicing psychology in uniform. With an emphasis on the differences in various duty assignments, presenters reviewed the various roles they have held within their careers.

Academic life at service universities and basic funding are also addressed.
